A new 576 social housing development is being proposed for Westmeath.
Alanna Roadbridge Developments Limited is applying to An Bord Pleanála for permission for the strategic housing project on a 18 hectare site in Lissywollen area of Athlone.
It'll consist of 285 houses and 291 apartments, varying from two to five storeys, along with two creches, a community hub, and a 34-space underground car park.
Access from the west will be via the Ballymahon roundabout and the and Garrycastle roundabout to the east, and cyclist connections to Old Rail Trail Greenway.
