Customers in a number of areas will have issues with supply as a result.
A number of villages in Westmeath are affected by water outages this evening.
Irish Water says it's carrying out urgent repairs following an interruption at the Ballany treatment plant.
The plant was shut down in the interest of public health following an issue with the UV system.
Crews are working to restore supply as quickly and as safely as possible in adherence with current HSE and government COVID-19 advice.
While repairs are underway, customers in Ballany, Gillardstown, Streamstown, Castlepollard, Milltown, Scurlockstown, Kilcumny, Coole and surrounding areas are being impacted by low water pressure and outages.
A further update will be provided as the repair works progress.
