The Westmeath Roads Policing Unit has reminded motorists to respect the zone.
The Westmeath Roads Policing Unit are urging motorists to respect the 5 axle zone on the R400 between Tullanisky and Rochfortbridge.
They say signs are in place when entering the road from Rochfortbridge and Mullingar.
Motorists are being asked to obey the continuous white line and 60km speed limit coming up to and past Gainstowns National School on the R400.
Monitoring will be in place for all these offences, with on the spot fines and penalty points to be issued to motorists.
Crossing a continous white line will result in a 80 euro fine and 3 penalty points, while speeding also means 3 penalty points and a 160 euro fine.
