The discoveries were made in the Midlands, Dublin Airport and Rosslare Europort.
Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €236,170 in various operations in the Midlands, Dublin, Dublin Airport, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
7.637kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €152,770.
2,820 of assorted tablets, with an estimated value of €5,500.
425.42g of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of over €2,550.
Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €2,670.
Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €15,400, and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €11,500.
Over 115.9 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of almost €1,430, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €850,
161 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €55,850.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara.
The parcels originated in the US, Canada, and France and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
Included in the tobacco seizure was 15kg of Amber Leaf tobacco which was seized in Dublin Airport on 24/01/26.
The tobacco was discovered in the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating in Morocco.
The tobacco has an estimated retail value of almost €12,370 representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €9,290.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights.
Sixteen weapons and weapon accessories were also seized. Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
These seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting smuggling and shadow economy activity.
