The Federation of Early Childhood Providers are heading to Leinster House today.
Rising costs and piling paper work are adding to the stress and challenge of running a childcare facility, according to midlands childcare service.
It's being claimed that insufficient core funding, a Government-imposed fees freeze, and a mandatory pay order, combined with soaring inflation, has decimated small childcare businesses.
The Federation of Early Childhood Providers will take their protest to Leinster House to tell the government it has let down children and parents badly.
Martina Henry is the manager of Daingean Community Childcare services, she says while her facility is a community service and isn't subject to the same pressures as a private one, Inflation and government policies like the National Childcare Scheme are adding to difficulties in providing childcare:
