Sinn Fein retained their hold in Longford-Westmeath despite spending less than the average amount on campaigns.
A new study from The Journal.ie is highlighting the average spend of candidates during last year's general election, which was around €20,000.
Fianna Fail's Robert Troy spent the most on his spent the most on his re-election campaign at almost €30,000.
While Sinn Fein's rep Sorca Clarke took the second seat ahead of Deputy Troy, after spending just €12,700 on her campaign.
