Temperatures are forecast to come close to record highs today.
Gardaí in the Laois/Offaly Division are asking people to "stay alert and act responsibly" after the Department of Agriculture issued a orange level fire risk warning.
The warning means there is a high fire risk, in all areas where dead grasses and shrub fuels, such as heather and gorse exist.
Gardaí in the midlands want the public not to light fires in or near forested or grassy areas, and to avoid barbeques or outdoor cooking near fields, bogs, or woodland areas.
While farmers and landowners are being asked to ensure firebreaks are in place, and machinery is serviced and fire-ready.
The orange high risk warning is in place now, until 12pm next Tuesday.
