They're each worth €2,000.
Three scholarships have been launched in memory of Ashling Murphy.
The scholarships, launched by Comhaltas, are worth €2,000 each, and aim to recognise and remember the talent and legacy of the Offaly school teacher, who died while out for a run in 2022.
The first will support individual artists working to develop participation and practice in traditional arts, the second will benefit those working with children or young people.
The final scholarship will support a research project, focused on an area in the Irish traditional arts and also considering music education.
The closing date for applications is this Friday at 5pm.
Submissions and details of the proposed project should to be sent to majella@comhaltas.ie.
Submissions should include name, contact information, short bio of the applicant and a brief outline of the project and which scholarship you are applying for. A selection committee will then assess all submissions. Submissions can be made in both English and Irish. Scholarships will be given at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Mullingar.
