He passed away suddenly on Friday.
Tributes are being paid to a Laois Business man who passed away suddenly
Joe Mallon, founder of Joe Mallon Motors, Portlaoise and Naas, died at his home on Friday.
He's being described as gentleman, who's legacy will long continue in GAA & communities circles in Kildare.
Allenwood GFC says Joe was a wonderfully loyal and generous sponsor for the past 24 years. In a post on social media, the club says he was an extremely successful businessman and has been synonymous with the Renault and more recently Dacia brands through his business Joe Mallon Motors in Naas and Portlaoise. He was also a wonderful Gael who gave a huge amount back to the GAA through his sponsorship of our club, his local club Cappagh GAA, Kildare GAA and many other GAA clubs, schools and individual teams. He gave generously without seeking any great recognition in return. Indeed one of his great qualities as a person was his willingness to help those most in need and hope that nobody noticed him doing it. He has been a part of the club through the good times and the not so good times.
His funeral will take place at The Church of the Nativity, Newtown at 12 noon.
He is survived by his partner Patricia, children Ethna, Anthony, Noel, Gemma & Philip and their mother Beatrice. His devoted grandchildren Abbie, Ben, Leah, Jack, Ann, James, Lucy, Ciara, Harry, Beatrice and Alice, sons & daughters in law Donnachadh, Richard, Rachel & Eimear. Patricia's children Sabrina, Alan, Emma, Nicola, Bernard & Georgina and Patricia’s grandchildren.
