Two men have been arrested following the seizure of €70,000 worth of drugs in Westmeath.
1 kilogram of cocaine was found during a search carried out in the Monksland area of Athlone yesterday.
Gardaí from the Westmeath Divisional Drugs Unit, helped by local units and the Armed Support Unit, made the find in a house.
The search was carried out as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the area.
Two men in their 20s and 30s are being held at Athlone Garda Station.
