One woman is in a serious condition in Tullamore Hospital.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious three car crash in County Longford.
Two of the five people treated at the scene have been taken separate hospitals.
Three cars were travelling on the R198 at Cahanagh, Drumlish Road when they collided at 2.50 yesterday afternoon.
A woman in her late 50s driving one of the cars is in a serious condition at Tullamore Regional Hospital.
Another woman in her early 50s driving the second car has been airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in Dublin, where she's in a serious condition.
A woman in her 30s who was driving the third car, along with her passengers, a 14 year old girl and 40 year old woman received medical attention at the scene.
An examination of the scene was conducted by garda forensic collision investigators and the road has now reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
Any road users who were travelling on the R198 in the townland of Cahanagh, Drumlish Road, Longford yesterday afternoon between 2.30p.m. and 3p.m. and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to gardaí.
