A midlands TD says nine testers are to be let go next month.
Young motorists in the midlands are being impacted by "scandalous" waiting times for driving tests, according to Sinn Féin.
The next available appointment for a test at the centre in Birr is 24 weeks away, while in Portlaoise, drivers are waiting 25 weeks.
Laois Offaly Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley claims nine testers are being let go next month, one of whom is in Portlaoise.
He's calling on the Taoiseach to intervene with the Road Safety Authority:
