Westmeath County Council is asking people to be vigilant.
Westmeath County Council is advising people to look for ID if anyone calls saying they are from the local authority.
It's after reports that a group are circulating, saying they are planning to carry out roadworks in the area.
People are being asked to remain vigilant and to contact the County Buildings if anyone has any concerns.
