Colm Smullen has been working to help refugees in Ukraine since March.
A Westmeath courier, who is helping people from Ukraine flee their home country, says the current Government system for dealing with the refugees is not working.
Colm Smullen, from Smullen Couriers, has been working with a group of volunteers who are assisting Ukranians who want to travel to Ireland and arranging accommodation for them.
He says they need more host families and donations.
The Mullingar man is concerned there are vacant homes in the midlands going to waste through the crisis.
