The event kicks of tonight.
Two Westmeath sports clubs are urging the public to swap pubs for the running track this evening.
Athlone Athletics Club and the Athlone Triathlon Club are joining forces to host the "12 Laps of Christmas" in aid of the Friends of St Hilda’s.
The event takes place at the TUS track in the town at 7 this evening , with registration at 6:30pm and entry at €10 per person.
Club members and the public are encouraged to take the track at their own pace, whether it be walking or running.
