Westmeath Town Responsible For Over 50% Of Cash Access Reports

82 out of the 141 cash access reports so far under Central Bank's reporting system come from Moate.

A Westmeath town is responsible for over half of cash access reports across the country, under a Central Bank system. 

Moate  has been without a 24 hour ATM since the closure of a Bank of Ireland branch on its Main Street in 2021.

82 out of the 141 so far come from there, with other reports from neighbouring localities.

The system only came into effect on June 30th, following the signing of new legislation.
