Esker House claim hotels do not work as well for domestic abuse victims.
Women could be kept in refuge from domestic violence for longer than needed due to issues with sourcing accommodation.
Deirdre Berry of Esker House Refuge and Support Service says while women can receive many supports while staying in refuge, when they feel ready to move on several barriers come into place.
She says while repurposing hotel accommodation may work in cases of incoming refugees, the same cannot always be true for women who need intense support following cases domestic abuse.
