AIB is being asked to reconsider its plan to make a midlands branch cashless.
The bank announced yesterday that 70 branches - including Birr, Edenderry and Rathdowney - will be making the move from September 30th.
An expanded deal with An Post, though, means customers will be able to lodge up to €5,000 a week and withdraw €1,500 in cash a day from their bank account at any post office.
Fine Gael councillor, Rathdowney's John King believes the bank should have engaged with local public reps before making its decision:
