Books will be open today in Westmeath and Laois.
As a sign of respect to the victims of the tragedy in Creeslough, books of condolences are being opened around the midlands.
Those wishing to write a message of condolence in Westmeath can do at the Civic Centre in Athlone and the County Building in Mullingar.
They will be available for the public to access from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
In Laois, a book of condolence will be opened in the County Hall in Portlaoise from 10 o'clock this morning.
Offaly County Council is also offering local residents the opportunity to pass their sympathies on to families and friends of those affected by the tragedy.
Books of condolence will be opened at the council buildings in Tullamore, Edenderry and Birr from 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
