A local councillor is urging Bus Éireann to step in.
More bus services are needed for the midlands, not less, says a local councillor, after a route to Dublin Airport serving the region was axed.
Aircoach announced the 706/706X commute between Galway and Dublin, which stops in Athlone, will no longer be operational after April 8th.
It says the route has not proven to be commercially viable, but they remain committed to providing an all-Ireland transport connection and fully expect to return to the West.
