It includes the parishes of Athlone and Kiltoom.
The Diocese of Elphin, which includes the parishes of Athlone and Kiltoom, is set to lose the exclusive presence of their Bishop, Kevin Doran.
The move comes off the back of the Bishop of Achonry being made the auxiliary Bishop of Dublin.
It means that Bishop Doran is now the appointed administrator of both Achonry and Elphin.
There's been further changes to Catholic administration in the region with the retirement of John Fleming, the Bishop of Killala.
The Archbishop of Tuam Francis Duffy will now cover Killala as well.
