DPD's €10 million expansion will give new jobs to Athlone.
The delivery firm is to create a second distribution hub, which will be located in Newlands Cross in Dublin and create 200 new jobs.
It's also adding 270 autonomous robots to replace its conveyor operations, which will be able to handle up to 10,000 parcels every hour.
The new distribution hub will be fully operational by October 2026.
