DPD’s €10m Expansion To Create 200 New Jobs

The expansion is expected to benefit workers in Athlone.

DPD's €10 million expansion will give new jobs to Athlone.

The delivery firm is to create a second distribution hub, which will be located in Newlands Cross in Dublin and create 200 new jobs.

It's also adding 270 autonomous robots to replace its conveyor operations, which will be able to handle up to 10,000 parcels every hour.

The new distribution hub will be fully operational by October 2026.

Chief Executive Des Travers says it's to meet rising parcel delivery demand:

Chief Executive Des Travers commented, “We are delighted to announce this significant investment in our infrastructure and our people. This expansion is a direct result of the 99% service level we consistently deliver to our customers. Their trust and continued support have
enabled our growth across all areas of the business. This new hub strongly positions us to meet rising parcel delivery demand and ensures that we
continue to provide the high level of service that our customers expect, year-round. It is an exciting step forward for DPD Ireland as we build for the future.”

The new distribution hub will be fully operational by October 2026.
