The Solar Meithal Project by Fivealley Sustainable Energy Community has had solar panels fitted in the area.
People in a rural Offaly community are now saving up to €1,300 euro a year thanks to a new programme.
Under the Solar Meithal Project by Fivealley Sustainable Energy Community, BnM and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, 57 homes in the Fivealley area have had solar panels fitted.
Funding was made available from BnM’s Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund and the SEAI.
