Councillor Noel Cribbin claims the problem existed long before storm Éowyn's damage.
"It's gone past a joke"
Edenderry Councillor Noel Cribbin is hitting out at the local authority in Offaly over broken street lights.
Offaly County Council says they've been restricted in repairing 267 broken street lights across the county since Storm Eowyn hit the midlands until the 5th of February.
77 faults are being reported in the Tullamore area, 63 in Edenderry, and 46 in the Birr Municipal District.
The 63 faults in Noel Cribbin's area represent over 2.5 per cent of the MD's overall number of lights, however Councillor Cribbin believes the number is far higher, and he's not seen any progress on the situation.
He says those responsible for the repairs aren't doing their job:
