Farmers gathered in Tullamore last night to discuss the deal.
Farmers and landowners affected by the Shannon Pipeline are expected to receive an average of €100,000 in compensation.
It's after the IFA and ICMSA agreed a deal Uisce Eireann on a voluntary 'wayleave package' worth an estimated €42m according to the Irish Times.
The deal works out at €218 per linear metre of pipe.
The agreement with the Irish Farmer's Association and the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association is expected to reduce objections to the plans significantly.
The project will see a pipeline running from Parteen Basin in Tipperary through Offaly, Laois, and Kildare and is estimated to cost the State anything between €3bn and €10bn.
