Festival-Goers Face Ticket Price Hike As Insurance Premiums Soar

Some animal-based shows have seen a 25 per cent increase.

Festival-goers and show-attendees will be facing higher costs for some tickets as organisers' insurance premiums soar.

An average jump of 16 per cent has been noted, but some agricultural- and animal-based shows have seen a 25 per cent increase.

PRO of the Mullingar Show, Paddy Shaw, says if any of the 133 events under the Irish Shows' Association umbrella face a claim, all exhibitions face a premium increase.

He says extra precautions are being taken to avoid any incidents:
