The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association is urging politicians to be honest with the public about food pricing realities.
It comes following inflated farming expenses, due to input costs, EU regulations and production costs.
Food inflation is now double general inflation, with the prices of butter, milk, and beef surging, and a 50% increase in cattle prices.
Families are paying up to €3,000 more annually for groceries.
