IPAV Says Proposed Changes To Rent Pressure Zones Gradual

A change to the 2% cap on Rent Pressure Zones will be made tomorrow by Cabinet.

There's a warning renters could be pushed into financial distress or homelessness if rent caps are removed.


Cabinet will meet tomorrow to decide on whether to change the 2 per cent cap in Rent Pressure Zones.


It would still apply for existing tenancies, but in a bid to boost apartment supply, the rent cap wouldn't apply to new-builds.
