Gardaí searched a car in Athlone on Wednesday night.
A man has been arrested following a seizure of drugs in Westmeath.
Gardaí, responding to reports, stopped a vehicle in the Monkland area of Athlone at about 9.50 on Wednesday night.
A quantity of tablets and suspected cocaine were discovered following a search of the vehicle, and a male occupant in his 20s was arrested.
He was detained at Athlone Garda Station, but has since been released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigations are ongoing.
