A man has died in a midlands workplace incident.
The man, who is in his 60s, was struck by a vehicle while working on a closed section of the Athlone Road in Ballymahon shortly after 7.30pm yesterday evening.
Gardaí say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area is being preserved for examination, and the Health and Safety Authority and the local coroner have been notified.
Gardaí say they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the incident.
