The scheme would see households and landowners paid money for selling on any excess renewable energy they generate.
A midlands TD is calling on the Environment Minister to directly intervene to launch the delayed Micro-generation Support Scheme.
The new government measure - which would allow people to sell excess power generated through their solar panels to the national grid - was due to go live on July 1st.
Energy suppliers are expected to advertise the rates they will offer under the scheme, but some utility companies have yet to do this.
A spokesperson for the Department of the Environment says all suppliers will have made the first payment by August 31st at the latest.
