The aim is to improve recycling in the county.
A program to prevent plastic bottles and cans from being discarded into public waste streams is to launch in Westmeath.
Re-turn has introduced a new pilot project, ‘Give Take Return,’ which involves installing bin surrounds on public waste bins nationwide to improve on-the-go recycling.
The new bin surrounds are designed to allow commuters, shoppers, and visitors to deposit their plastic bottles and cans so that others can retrieve and return them for recycling.
Westmeath County Council will announce the launch of the new bin surrounds in Mullingar tomorrow at 12:00pm from Dominick Place on Dominick Street in Mullingar.
