The Fianna Fáil leader is giving his thoughts on two attacks in Athlone.
The Tánaiste says Gardaí will be working "night and day" to catch the people involved in two assaults on pensioners in the midlands.
A man in his 70s was assaulted by two people at his home in Athlone on Saturday, September 2nd, and a sum of cash was taken.
Less than a week later an elderly couple, in their 70s and 80s respectively, were also assaulted by two people and cash was stolen from their home in Cartron Drive.
Gardaí are investigating a possible link between the two incidents.
