This week marks two years since the war in Ukraine first began.
Over 5,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in the midlands since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
CSO figures show that Westmeath has the highest number in the region at 2,626.
That's followed by Offaly, where over 1,600 Ukrainians are currently placed, and in Laois there are over 1,400.
More than 104,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the war began, 31% of whom are aged under 18.
