Mark McHugh's side sealed a dramatic victory over Dublin in a pulsating affair at Croke Park yesterday as they secured a 2-28 to 0-26 win after extra time.
Senan Baker's late point in normal time resuced the game for the Lake County, before they outscored the Dub's by 2-6 to four points over the two 10 minute periods.
Brían Cooney scored his side's opening goal to give them a seven point lead after the first half of extra time, with Jack Duncan confirming victory with a last minute strike.
It's Westmeath's second ever success in Leinster.
