The ratio of nose to chin rose by 17%.
Selfies may be making people get unnecessary nose jobs, because smartphones make them look longer and wider.
A study by the University of Texas found younger people are booking rhinoplasties because selfies distort their features.
The findings reveal that noses looked up to 6.4% longer in photos taken by smartphones, while chins looked shorter by up to 12%.
The ratio of nose to chin rose by 17%, making the base of the nose appear wider compared with the face.
