The new facility in Offaly is expected to be operational in 2025.
Concerns are being raised with staffing issues for a new Primary Care Centre in the midlands.
The new facility in Birr received planning permission last month, and is expected to be operational in 2025.
Laois Offaly TD Carol Nolan says she's concerned about the 'recruitment and retention crisis' within Children's Disability Network Teams, particularly with CHO8, which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.
The area has a 43% staff vacancy rate, with Speech and Language therapy positions the worst affected.
The Independent Deputy says:
"This level of vacancy must be addressed urgently.
Birr Primary Care Centre has to be made an employment opportunity and destination of choice for our graduates and health care professionals.
I will be working with the HSE and the Minister to ensure that this happens."
