The order was made by Judge Emily Egan yesterday.
The High Court is ordering RTE to hand over unedited footage which documents significant failures in care at a Laois nursing home.
The Residence in Portlaoise, along with its sister facility, Beneavin Manor in Dublin were the focus of an undercover documentary revealing instances of malpractice last year.
HIQA had placed restrictions on admissions at both homes following a series of negative inspections.
At the time of revelations, the health watchdog requested the complete and unedited footage, however the State Broadcaster insisted on waiting for a court order over concerns over GDPR issues.
Judge Emily Egan delivered the order yesterday allowing HIQA to pursue any further evidence of alleged wrongdoing at either nursing home.
