It has been collected over a number of years.
A charity has been left counting the cost of the Laois theft of five tonnes of Lego, along with school books which were destined for a rural parish in Malawi.
The Lego and books, which had been collected over the course of a number of years, have been stolen from a shipping container that was being stored in Clonaslee.
The theft took place at some stage between February 2nd and March 7th.
The Lego, which is estimated to be worth around €50,000, was packed carefully into Glanbia milk powder bags.
While there were a dozen English classreader books, many of which would have had school stamps on the inside.
The container is 20 feet long, it was grey, and the code number on it was SKIU 292388.0..
