Kieran Joyce of Drogheda in County Louth claims he was injured as a passenger when a car struck a pole near Birr in 2019.
The Irish Independent reports he has been previously awarded thousands of euro for separate incidents.
Another man, Francis Kerrigan Senior, is also suing over the crash in County Offaly.
The defendent is his son, James, who is insured by Axa.
Judge Chris Callan in Tullamore will deliver his judgement tomorrow.
