A large sum of money has been taken and substantial damage done to properties.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a string of burglaries in Laois.
Four properties have been broken into this week.
A house in the Ballycoolan area of Stradbally was broken into overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
Two properties in the Borris In Ossory area were targetted.
The first incident occured in the Rock Road area of the town at half five on Tuesday.
The second happened in the Shanboe area overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.
All three houses were ransacked and damage was done during these incidents although no valuables were taken.
A final burglary took place in the Clonkeen area, between half four and five o'clock on Tuesday evening.
A substantial amount of money was taken in coins during the break-in.
Gardaí are appealing to businesses who are approached by anyone looking to change a large amount of coins, or may have information about any of these incidents to contact Portlaois garda station.
