Young Boy Killed In Westmeath Crash

The incident took place in the Farronshock area of Mullingar on Monday.

A young boy has died after a collision with a car in Westmeath.

It happened shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening, at the Farranshock Estate in Mullingar.

He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The scene remained sealed off overnight and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

Separately crashes claimed the lives of two people in Dublin and Limerick over the weekend, while two children were among 4 people seriously injured after a collision in Sligo.

A teenager was killed in West Dublin on Sunday night when his scrambler was in collision with a car, at CityWest.

A motorcyclist in his 20s was killed yesterday evening, after a collision with a car at Ardagh Village in Limerick.
