Athlone Chamber of Commerce says it's disappointed by a proposal to partially discontinue operations at a pharmaceutical firm in the midlands.
PPD in Athlone, a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has proposed plans that, if confirmed, would cease operations at the depot, though the laboratory would remain unaffected.
It says it's currently in the early stages of discussions with potentially affected employees.
CEO of Athlone Chamber of Commerce, Tommy Hogan says, if the proposal were to go ahead, it would have an affect on suppliers, customers and families:
