The now-deleted tweet asked the public to reduce its consumption of red meat.
The Irish Farmers Association says a tweet from the Environment Protection Agency has caused 'huge rage' among farmers.
The social media post urged the public to reduce its consumption of red meat and instead eat veg to to be 'healthier, wealthier and more fabulous'.
It was later deleted after the IFA asked them to remove it and the organisations are due to hold a meeting to discuss it.
IFA President, Toomervara's Tim Culinane says farmers are working hard to reduce climate emissions, and the post infuriated them:
The Irish Farmers Association says the role of the Environmental Protection Agency is not advocacy.
IFA President Tim Cullinan says each organisation has a role when it comes to climate action but the EPA shouldn't interfere with people's food choices.
He says a meeting has been arranged to find out who created the post:
A Green Party Minister says she won't tell the EPA what to do when it comes to posting on social media.
Catherine Martin says this could lead to constructive engagement between the two organisations.
However, she says the post was based on science but no-one is being forced to eat a certain way:
