The Irish Business and Employers Confederation believe the drinks sector will need a stimulus package of up to 26 billion euro to get back on its feet.
IBEC are launching a seven point roadmap of policies they would like to see implemented by governement to secure the future of graduate jobs, boost the craft brewing sector and solidify the branding of Irish products across the world.
It comes as the Vintners Federation of Ireland are proposing radical measures to allow publicans to re-open ahead of schedule alongside cafe's and restaurants.
Director of Drinks Ireland, Mullingar's Patricia Callan says this isn't a crisis that will be solved by austerity:
