Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín says the government has no way to track if people leave or not.
Only 98 of the 1,792 deportation orders issued this year have been enforced.
The Minister for Justice released the figures yesterday, showing an increase of 140% in the number of orders issued year on year.
However, Helen McEntee has previously admitted she cannot confirm whether the 648 voluntary deportations have left the country.
Aontú leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín says the government has no way to track if people leave or not:
Deputy Tóibín says "It is clear that the Minister for Justice and the government has been asleep at the wheel on this issue for many years. This has put enormous pressure on the accommodation system and it has also sent out the message internationally that Ireland has an incredibly slow asylum processing system and even if you fail it you will most likely not be deported."
