The case has been adjourned until October 17th.
The future of some 49 residents at a Laois nursing home remains unresolved after a court hearing yesterday.
The Laois Nationalist is reporting Judge Andrew Cody has asked both HIQA and Droimnín Nursing Home to consider mediation in their dispute before appearing before Portlaoise District Court again.
The health watchdog moved to have the home's license cancelled or altered on the grounds of there being a risk to the lives or welfare of the residents.
It follows the death of a woman in her 80s there in March, and a subsequent inspection April that saw the home fail eight out of nine areas of compliance.
Judge Cody gave both HIQA and Droimnín Nursing Home four weeks to resolve their dispute before the case is heard again on October 17th.
