Councillors should not run for election if they do not want the public to know what is going on.
That's according to Laois councillor Aisling Moran, who made the comments during a disagreement with her fellow council members on live streaming monthly meetings.
Cathaoirleach and Fine Gael colleague Conor Bergin says there was no consensus among the public reps for doing it.
The local authority says it is awaiting a report on the practicalities of streaming and is pricing audiovisual equipment.
