E-scooter injuries filled almost half of Temple Street ICU beds, including one Laois case.
We need to regulate e-scooters like they're vehicles and not toys for children.
That's the message from Laois TD Brian Stanley, as the Government is actively considering a ban on them.
Just under half of the intensive care unit beds in Temple Street hospital were occupied recently with children injured by e-scooters, including one from Laois.
It also follows the death of a teenager in Carlow after falling from one in June.
Deputy Stanley believes licences, tax and insurance should be required for users.
