The charge happened on the 11th of August.
A man has denied cutting up a garda station mattress in Laois with a knife he had been hiding in his rectum.
26 year old Patrick Kerry, from Cashel Holiday Hostel, 6 John Street, Cashel Tipperary is accused of possessing a blade and causing criminal damage to a prison cell mattress in Abbeyleix Garda Station on the 11th of August.
Leinster Express is reporting Mr Kerry is also accused of having a razor blade in Esker Hills shop in Portlaoise on the 31st of January this year, and of engaging in abusive or threatening behaviour at Best Choice Pizza in Portlaoise on August 1st 2023.
Gardaí told Portlaoise District Court he is alleged to have concealed a box cutter knife in his rectum and used it to cut a mattress in the garda station cell.
That case has been adjourned until a December 9th sitting of the same court.
The Cashel man pleaded guitly to the remaining charges and received a seven month suspended sentence.
